We absolutely LOVE hosting your weddings here at The Gamekeeper's Inn and creating a day that's perfect for you is a wonderful feeling. So we've asked some of our brides to relive their special day with us by filling out a little questionnaire so we could share a little bit of the magic with you too!

Tell us how you met? At a public house

How did he or she propose? In York, one of our favourite places to visit

What was the theme for your day, and did you have a colour scheme? Colour scheme was champagne

Where did you hold your ceremony? The Gamekeeper’s Inn

Why did you choose The Gamekeeper’s Inn as your reception venue? Beautiful surroundings, fabulous food, lovely atmosphere.

When did you know you had found THE dress? First one I tried on, bought 12 months before the wedding.

Who were your bridesmaids and what did they wear? Leasa, Amber, Jodie and Stacey. They wore champagne coloured dresses.

Tell us about your floral arrangements We used Flower Couture in Bingley. They made us a stunning centrepiece using ivory roses.

Tell us about the personal touches you added to the day We had Manorlands do our wedding favours as a special touch as the charity is close to our hearts. Each guest got a silver pin. We also had a pork pie wedding cake.

How did you feel as you walked down the aisle? Excited!

What was the most memorable moment of your day? Entrance song was ‘Marching on Together’ where everyone joined in. Also, the speeches.

Which song did you choose for your first dance and why? ‘The Whole of the Moon’ by the Waterboys. One of our favourite songs

Which food and drinks did you choose to provide for your guests on the day? Fabulous hog roast for day guests and curry or steak and ale pie for evening. Drinks were prosecco and bottles of beer.

What was the most challenging aspect of planning your wedding? Seating plan

Was there anything you wish you had known before? No

Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding? Don’t worry about the weather. It poured it down on our wedding day but still had the best day ever.
