Featured Gamekeeper's Wedding - Jenny & Scott
We love making your dream weddings a reality at The Gamekeeper's Inn. It's always an honour to be part of such a special day. Recently, we had the pleasure of reconnecting with some of our happy couples and reminiscing about their unforgettable experiences with them, and now we're excited to share their stories with you.
Could you tell us your names? Jenny and Scott
How did you both meet?
We both joined Tinder in 2023, where we matched, then unmatched. About six months after the first match, we matched for a second time, but once again, nothing came of it. Finally, on our third match, Scott decided to be a little more persistent. He asked for my number so we could actually keep in touch - and the rest is history.
How did Scott propose?
Scott Proposed at York Christmas Markets on 8th December 2024. When we first met, we got extremely tipsy at a bottomless brunch on our first weekend away in York, so Scott choose to go back to the same place over the river to propose.
What did you do for your stag & hen celebrations?
We did away with the normal stag and hen traditions and did a combined "Sten Do" at Ripon Races, so all of our family and friends could meet and have a good time before our actual day.
What was the date of your wedding? Saturday 13th June 2026
What made The Gamekeeper's Inn stand out to you as your perfect wedding venue?
We were searching for the perfect country venue, and we looked everywhere! Through our research we found The Gamekeeper's Inn, and we arranged to meet Angela the following day. We fell in love and the deposit was sent within hours of viewing this stunning place. We just knew it was the one. We now regularly dine up at The Gamekeeper's Inn.
Tell us all about the morning of your wedding!
Scott stayed in Lovely Seat to get ready with our boys, while I stayed in Netherside Barn with our girls and my Maid of Honour. We were both so chilled and worry-free on the wedding morning, and able to just enjoy the relaxed setting.
Did you set a theme for the wedding?
Our main colours were sage green, white and gold. Our overall theme as to have fun! Scott and I don't take life too seriously and we are forever laughing, so we wanted to bring that into the start of our marriage.
How did you decide on the theme colours?
We did a mood board - I picked my colours and Scott picked his. Scott did what a good husband does and agreed I was right!
Jenny, you looked beautiful. Please tell us more about your wedding look!
My wedding dress was from Wed2B and my jewelry was from a small boutique in Skipton. I always felt self-conscious about finding a dress, so my sister and I had a sneak trial before we went with everyone. The only mistake was that while trying them on I actually found my dress! So after a quick call to Scott I'd decided I'm buying it.
Being a hairdresser myself, I've worked with lots of people in the wedding hair and makeup industry. I ultimately chose to go with an old friend, Olivia Bedford, who owns a salon in Bradford.
How did you feel walking down the aisle?
I was actually really calm! We'd planned everything for 18 months, so I knew everything was going to be just right. It felt a little surreal walking beside my dad who was in tears - it was finally my time after watching friends over the years get married.
What songs did you walk down the aisle to, and our of your ceremony as Mr & Mrs to?
I walked down the aisle to Ruth B's Dandelions, sung live by Leon Marshall.
After the ceremony, we walked out at Mr & Mrs to Mark Arbor's "Belong Together".
We loved your flowers. Who was your florist?
We used The Flower Gallery in Silsden. From the moment Scott and I got together, he would buy me flowers once a month. The Flower Gallery just felt right to use these as this is where he always used to go.
How did you decide on your floral arrangements?
Pinterest is a girl's best friend!
We loved your table settings and room decor! Tell us more about them.
Create A Look Decor did all of our decorations, they were a recommended supplier at The Gamekeeper's Inn. We spoke though everything and they just got it perfect.
What did you have as favours?
A personlised tambourine (which came in handy later!), a scratch card and an alcoholic shot.
How many guests did you have?
We had 86 guests.
Your food looked delicious, and it was such a pleasure to cater your wedding day. Tell us all about your wedding menu choices.
For our starters we picked the scotch egg or ceasar salad. For the main course it was a choice of salmon or beef, and finally for the dessert our guests had a choice of the fruit basket or a brownie.
Your cake was incredible! Who made it?
My auntie actually made the cake! We allowed her free will to do as she pleased, and she made it perfect.
What song did you choose for the first dance, and what does this song mean to you?
We chose Luke Combs's "Forever After All".
Did you rehearse your dance, or just wing it?
We winged it! Scott's got two left feet but he managed a spin!
You had the most fantastic entertaintment. We've never seen so much entertainment in one wedding! Tell us all about it.
We chose Matt Foks for sax after seeing his Ibiza-style wedding mix - it was unreal!
Leon Marshall was our ceremony singer.
During the wedding breakfast, we had singing waiters and a brilliant drag performer singing "It Should Have Been Me"!
Mark Waddington as our magician was unreal.
Which is your favourite photo of the day?
The confetti photo of me and Scott. I remember thinking all the planning and the stress was done, we were relieved it was all over and we'd done it, we'd said 'I do'. It was all worth the effort.
Do you have a favourite memory of the day?
We really can't pin-point one. We actually want to re-live the day again for all the little bits we missed.
