At The Gamekeeper's Inn, we’re passionate about bringing your dream wedding to life. Being part of such a meaningful day is always an incredible honour. Recently, we had the joy of catching up with some of our wonderful couples, reliving their cherished memories, and now we can’t wait to share their beautiful stories with you.
Could you please tell us your and your husband's names? Luke and Nikita
How did you both meet? Originally we met on Tinder, our first date was at the cinema!
Tell us the engagement story! Luke proposed to me on Christmas Day morning, he knows how much I am obsessed with Christmas. It was just the two of us, and our two pups, unwrapping presents and listening to Christmas music, and then I was surprised to look up and find Luke on one knee.
Tell us about the morning of your wedding! Waking up in the Netherside Barn and getting ready for the big day was magical. A lot of our family were travelling up for the wedding, so having accommodation on site was really convenient. The barn was the perfect place for us all to get ready just down the road from The Gamekeeper's Inn. It really fit with the autumnal theme, and the weather was just perfect, too, especially for October.
We loved your autumnal decor! Thank you, the wedding was very much a DIY, budget friendly wedding, with most things homemade or recycled from other weddings via wedding for-sale sites. We hand-made the floral arrangements, and the cake was homemade. I had a clear vision of my dream autumn-themed wedding and we were able to really bring it to life on a budget.
Who was your photographer? Our photography was carried out by a family friend, Ciára.
Your dress is beautiful, where did you get it? My dress is from Wed2B.
And the suits? The groom and groomsmen's suits are from Next.
Why did you choose The Gamekeeper's Inn for your wedding venue? I went to university in Yorkshire, so a lot of my friends are local to the area. We came to look at the venue and we instantly fell in love with it, and the whole team at The Gamekeeper's Inn were fab.
